A man is in critical condition after finding himself in difficulty while swimming in St George’s Bay on Thursday afternoon, the police said Friday.

The Polish man, aged 56, was helped ashore by people who were on site.

He was given medical assistance before being taken to hospital.

The police said that the man was in critical condition.
