The Nationalist Party said on Saturday that it is ready to take legal action if the Attorney General continues to discriminate against the Leader of the Opposition and the Maltese and Gozitan people, if she does not publish the Vitals inquiry.

PN MP Karol Aquilina was referring to the conclusion of the magisterial inquiry into the Vitals’ case, which was sent to the AG’s office on 25 April.

In a statement, he said that the AG must promptly publish the Vitals inquiry so that the Maltese and Gozitan people can be informed of the conclusions of the inquiry into “the biggest fraud in our country's political history.”

“The public statements made by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice clearly show that they have access to the Vitals inquiry and are using it for political and electoral purposes,” Aquilina alleged.

He said that the Vitals inquiry ended up at Castile, through the AG, who for years has been controlled by Castile and does everything that the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice tell her.

“The Attorney General is practicing discrimination against the Opposition Leader and against the Maltese and Gozitan people by not publishing the Vitals inquiry and instead giving access only to the Prime Minister and those around him,” he reiterated.

He said that the Constitutional Court has already found the Attorney General guilty of breaches of the law and the fundamental rights of PN MP Adrian Delia, then-Leader of the Opposition, when she refused to give him a full copy of the E-grant inquiry even though she had already given a copy to former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, lawyer Pawlu Lia, and the Minister of Justice.

“The copy of the Egrant inquiry had also ended up in the hands of various Ministers and other individuals in Castile,” he said.

Aquilina said that that the Nationalist Party will not accept or allow this situation to repeat itself, and publicly stated that it is ready to take all available actions according to the country's laws so that the Maltese and Gozitan people have a copy of the Vitals inquiry in their hands.
