Michael Paul Antony Censu McIntyre, who lives in America, was looking for his Maltese family who he had not seen since his Maltese father and English mother separated when he was two years old.
Alfred McIntyre, who lives in Birzebbuga, contacted us to let us know that he is actually Michael’s uncle, and the family plan to meet in the near future.
Alfred told this newspaper that Michael’s father had been sick and the half sister he has never met had been trying to contact her brother for the past year.
Now that Michael’s father has passed away, Alfred said he feels it is even more important for the family to reunite and welcome Michael as one of them.
Michael is planning a visit to Malta and Alfred sounded overjoyed that the family will get to meet him, especially since the last time he had seen Michael he was just six months old. Alfred said that they had already spoken on the telephone and one of his brothers is now exchanging emails with Michael to organise the reunion.
The letter, written by Michael’s girlfriend, had asked TMID for the names of any agencies that could help locate her boyfriend’s family.
The contribution of this newspaper in reuniting Michael with his family was definitely more hands-on than expected.
