A Sign from above?

Malta Independent Wednesday, 11 August 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 21 years ago

It is being assumed that some kind of work will be undertaken in the coming days because a jigger and a bobcat have been parked across the road from the offices. Later on yesterday evening a notice was affixed indicating that no parking was allowed as from 10 August, which was yesterday. But no work started.

Local council officials and Malta Transport Authority officials both said they knew nothing about the signs. ADT insisted that it had issued no permits in this regard.

It is not known who placed the signs – which are kept upright thanks to a concrete base in a old car tyre – and neither when the works will commence. It is also questionable whether the contractor should be in possession of these signs. We will just have to wait and see. In the meantime, parking will become more of a nightmare for people who work for this newspaper.
