In a statement issued yesterday, the GWU said it expressed its concern about the breach of the workers’ human rights in a letter to the Bulgarian President and the Prime Minister. The GWU supported the workers and the union that represents them and appealed to the country’s authorities to intervene. “The workers’ fundamental human rights are being breached and employment laws are being broken,” said the GWU.
The union supports the international effort to make sure the workers’ human rights are respected. The GWU’s message to the Bulgarian officials was also sent to ZMM Sofia and the president of the union that represents the company’s workers.
