It shows signs of being another record-breaking year with many innovations adding to the programme’s already successful format.
Tista’ Tkun Int! is a programme dealing with people’s troubles, a programme which emphasises solidarity, a programme that has left a mark on the lives of so many, bringing a smile to so many people’s faces even when this seemed to be impossible.
Now in its fifth year Tista’ Tkun Int! has strengthened the hold it had on Sunday morning television and will be aired live on TVM on Thursday evenings after the 8pm news.
In fact Tista’ Tkun Int! will be giving out the largest ever televoting prize worth Lm50,000 together with other gifts including cars, boats (including a speedboat offered by Mecca Enterprises as the first prize in a competition), bathroom suiets and kitchens sponsored by Satariano, furniture pieces, jewellery by Sterling Jewellers and exotic holidays sponsored by Emirates and Directions Travel Agency.
With this year’s theme being “Follow Your Dream”, the programme again aims to make many people’s dreams come true, in some way positively changing the lives of the persons nominated, and there are thousands of these.
“Everybody has a dream. Today’s realities, from the smallest to the largest achievements in the history of mankind, started as a dream in someone’s mind,”
Also being launched this year is the “Don’t forget your passport” campaign. Every week a member of the programme’s crew will be stopping people in the street offering them a holiday abroad if they happen to have their passports on them. So make sure you keep your passport on you this winter.
Although little has been made public so far, the crew of Tista’ Tkun Int! have kept themselves very busy this summer preparing for the programme.
Rachel and Colin travelled to Hollywood where they had meetings with one of America’s largest TV companies. The company’s CEO, Bill Scott, is a former speechwriter for Presidents Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert Kennedy. He witnessed the assassinations of the two Kennedy brothers.
Tista’ Tkun Int! has reached an agreement with the company to franchise a talent show which is being produced for CBS television. The winner of the talent show in Malta will be sent to Hollywood to compete with the winners of the show in the US.
Later on during the summer Rachel was chosen by Autosales Limited, local agents for Mercedes to represent Malta at the launch of the brand new Mercedes A Class which was held in Palazzo Sforza in Milan. The event was attended by among others Jean Alesi, Giorgio Armani, David Coulthard, Nicki Lauda, Boris Becker and Christina Aguilera who launched a brand new song for the occasion. On the night Giorgio Armani entertained the audience with a brand new collection. The event was organised by Daimler Chrysler under the name “Follow your own star”
The show’s technical and production director is Mark Vassallo, who was previously employed by PBS where he directed many major events in Malta including the Welcome Europe show watched by over one billion viewers.
New faces on the programme but which definitely need no introduction are Felix Busuttil and his choreography, the ever-present Charles Vella, the Tista’ Tkun Int! girls and many other surprises which will be revealed during the programmes
The show’s main sponsors are ROCS Company Limited, Directions Travel Agency and Karkanja Limited besides the other main sponsors who have supported the show so far.
