Barbara To play last match for Marsaxlokk tomorrow

Marsaxlokk’s international midfielder/striker Etienne Barbara will bemaking his last appearance for the southern seasiders tomorrow against Pieta Hotspurs in the Premier League match at the Centenary Stadium, according to the club’s official website.

The posting on the website also said that the player’s transfer to Sliema will be made on Thursday, that is, the day after playing his last match for the club.

That will make Barbara available to play for Sliema in next Saturday’s scheduled Premier League match against his old club, that is, Marsaxlokk.

Barbara had been with Marsaxlokk for two years playing 57 games and scoring 23 goals.

The club also said that their three new foreigners will all be eligible to play for the club tomorrow, thus making their debut in their new surroundings.

They are two Bulgarians – midfielder Mitko Trendatilov and striker Stanimir Geordiev – and young Nigerian Michael Emeka Ochei. They replace Dragomir Draganov and Minabo Asechemie, who have been released.

The club also confirmed that defender Justin Tellus had moved to first division Mqabba on loan till the end of the season while Mark Sciriha has also joined Qormi on loan till the end of the season.
