(20-8) (20-10) (13-7) (15-12)

Hibs improved on their top standing, with their sixth win in a row, and made it three wins over Luxol this season.

They left nothing to chance, as they established an early good lead and then held on with ease, as Luxol could never get close enough to remedy their position.

A good opening, and a 10-2 lead helped the Paolites on to a good first session advantage, and although the Violets opened up well in the second session, Hibs’ treys helped them on, and an 11-0 break pushed them further ahead, and by the interval they had already built up a strong 40-18 score.

After the break Hibs were still pressing for a bigger lead, and another 11-2 run had left Luxol way behind.

The latter, though, recovered till the end of the quarter but Hibs were not worried, with a 53-25 favourable score.

Hibs’ youngsters had already started going on court, and in the final session their presence increased.

Luxol could thus share the proceedings, but Hibs had a good enough lead to see them through till the end of the game, and Lucienne Bezzina’s free shots did the rest.

Hibs: 21 Lucienne Bezzina, 12 Doreen Parnis, 12 Alexis Darmanin.

Luxol: 11 Justine Mangion.

Referees: Stephen Micallef, Clive Terribile

Standings:

Hibs GM 12; Depiro S 10; Naxxar D 10; Luxol V 9; Kerygma 7; Qormi S 6.
