A drive to recruit cabin crew in Malta for British Airways franchise partner GB Airways has proved a roaring success, and seven Maltese nationals are
currently undergoing the initial training course in Gatwick.
The recruitment drive took place last October in Malta, when over 250 people met the training team and applied to join the
airline.
The initial training course, which is taking place at GB Airways head office, will last five weeks and includes safety, security, aviation medicine and
customer service.
The airline welcomes applications from EU citizens who can legally work in the UK. GB Airways cabin crew manager Karen Costigan said: “This is the first time that Maltese nationals have had the opportunity to join us and they will undoubtedly be proud to fly in the new British Airways uniform. Having bilingual crew on board the aircraft is clearly a benefit to many of our passengers.”
A second group of seven Maltese will be leaving Malta in due course to take part in another training course, which is expected to start on 14 February.
