Go Mobile and Hewlett-Packard (HP) yesterday signed an agreement for the installation of an Interactive Voice Response {IVR) platform. The agreement was signed by Go Mobile Chief Executive Officer Prof. Juanito Camilleri and Rudy Kozak, chief executive of HP European Emerging Markets.

Also present for the signing were Maltacom chairman Saviour Portelli and Dr Alberto

Caprara, sales manager HP European Emerging Markets.

HP’s IVR solution, named OpenCall Media Platform (OCPM), will provide Go Mobile with basic as well as advanced forms of voice messaging. Go Mobile CEO Prof. Camilleri said that as opposed to conventional voice mail systems, the HP solution provides open and standardised interfaces which will enable Go Mobile to easily link the platform into the rest of the network and with other applications.

“Through this agreement with international IT giant Hewlett-Packard, Go Mobile is starting a process which will lead id the upgrade of the company’s infrastructure as regards messaging in general. As a result, the company will be in a position to offer new value added messaging services,” Prof. Camilleri said.

Mr Kozak, chief executive of HP’s European Emerging Markets, said: “OCMP is long term investment for Go Mobile as it is a highly scalable and carrier-grade voice service platform that will allow Go Mobile to reduce time to market for new applications and services and, at the same time, launch next generation services such as video mail, video portal, video call centers, and video conferencing.”

Dr Caprara added: “On this particular project, HP is working in close collaboration with one of our selected partners who are committed to deliver innovative and profitable solutions to our customers.”

“For customers who require uncompromising levels of IT performance in the telecom domain, HP can offer its original approach backed by the latest technology where affordability, reliability and security are concerned. In fact, through this agreement, we offer Go Mobile the best-in-class infrastructure with regard to both software and services; open and standard based components that support legacy and next generation networks; a modular approach that reuses existing components and is ready to integrate with third party structures; and an infrastructure that is built on HP industry standard servers,” said Mr Kozak.
