A new multiplex development is nearing its first phase of completion in the Gozitan capital, Victoria. The development, being carried out jointly by J Portelli Projects and Bajada Bros aims to be the first hospitality and entertainment centre of its kind in Gozo.

The new multi-facility centre, aptly named ‘Downtown’, will be in the very heart of Victoria and will incorporate, among others, a three-star “superior” hotel around which a good number of facilities will be in operation; these will include a restaurant, pub, cafés, a children's play and activity centre, various shops as well a bowling alley.

Downtown is being developed on a truly grand scale, and due to its being the first of its kind in Gozo, great attention to detail is being maintained throughout. The 80-bed hotel, which will be the first and only hotel in Victoria after many years, is rated as a 3-star, but will include all the facilities and amenities associated with a 4-star hotel.

The Downtown Hotel and Entertainment Centre will employ approximately 60 people and the first phase of development is scheduled to be completed and open for business in spring.
