Keen Participation in BOV’s Investor Education programme

Malta Independent Monday, 31 January 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Over 100 people participated in the first session of a series of Investor Education programmes being organised by Bank of Valletta this year. Each series in the programme consists of five seminars that give investors an overview of the local financial market, explain different aspects related to investments and provide a test of knowledge on financial services by the MFSA. Participants who attend all five sessions are presented with a certificate of attendance.

The first series for this year is being held at the Centru Papa Gwanni Pawlu II, in Attard.

Speaking during the opening of these sessions, Christine Albani, Bank of Valletta’s investor relations officer said, “Following last year’s success when over 400 people completed the Investor Education programme, this year’s keen participation shows the interest that the Maltese public has to learn more about financial services and opportunities of investment both locally and beyond our shores.”

She continued: “This added value service is provided by BOV to the public free of charge in line with our commitment to play an active role within the community in which we operate.”

The Investor Education programmes being organised by BOV are open to the general public and participation is free of charge. Topics discussed during the sessions focus on the local financial market, life assurance, retirement planning, wealth management and collective investment schemes.

Further seminars are scheduled throughout this year. Participation for these seminars is on a first come first served basis and anyone wishing to attend may place a reservation on telephone number 2124 8163 or by sending an email at [email protected]. Bank of Valletta’s Investor Relations Office is situated at 1/5, Second Floor, Palace Square, Valletta.
