Maltacom is waiving the connection charge of Lm5.90 (incl. VAT) on every Carelink Value Added Service availed of by Telecare customers. The offer is valid between 1 February and 31 March 2005.
The Carelink service, the commercialised and enhanced version of the basic social Telecare service, offers a wide variety of automatic alarms ideal for both the home and business premises. Telecare customers only need apply for the Value Added Services of their preference without having to opt for a full Carelink package.
The Carelink service offers various types of alarms. Some of these alarms are triggered automatically as soon as the specific alarm detects the hazard. Other alarms are designed in such a way to be activated manually by the user.
The Carelink alarms report various types of hazards within the home or business premises, such as:
• theft and/or break-ins;
• gas leakages;
• floods;
• harassment from unwanted visitors;
• falls and other emergencies and/or assistance required.
The various alarms are reported through an automatic telephone call from the customer’s fixed telephone line to a specialised 24x7 Monitoring Centre, which deals with every case individually and follows it up until safety is ensured. This means that the Carelink service offers direct attention and protection through a Monitoring Centre, which is manned by highly trained persons.
A spokesman for Maltacom said: “Given the choice, most elderly people would rather stay in their own home. Maltacom has developed the Carelink service to give such people secure independent living in their home for less than eight cents daily for each service.”
