HSBC’s support to the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise has paved the way for the setting up of a new lecture room.

This is situated on the top floor of the Exchange Buildings in Republic Street, Valletta.

The new lecture room is a significant addition to the Chamber’s resources and will allow the Chamber to organise its extensive programme of business education provision in a more conducive environment.

The new lecture room was inaugurated by HSBC’s chief executive officer Shaun Wallis, during a courtesy call to the chamber.

During his visit Mr Wallis met with the administration of the chamber including president Louis Apap-Bologna and director general Anthony Borg Cardona.

“The Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise has always provided Maltese business with an excellent forum in which to discuss any matter concerning private enterprise and the economy.

“The Chamber does a great job in representing the concerns of private enterprise in national debates on the economy. HSBC firmly believes that economic success lies in individual entrepreneurship and this new lecture room will strengthen the Chamber’s infrastructure and therefore its efforts to support private enterprise,” said Mr Wallis when presenting the annual sponsorship of Lm5,000 to the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise.

The chamber president expressed his satisfaction that the occasion underlined the ever increasing profile of the chamber.

“This rising profile has recently been encouraging local private institutions to enter into similar relationships of co-operation with the chamber while others have also sought to become official supporters of the Chamber,” said Mr Apap-Bologna.
