Coastline Hotel Employee excels at Istanbul International Gastronomy Festival

At the recent Istanbul Inter-national Gastronomy Festival 2005 held last month, Coastline Hotel pastry chef Dominic Zahra achieved outstanding results .

Dominic Zahra, was awarded two gold medals – in the Junior Petit Fours category and the Restaurant Plated Sweets for Seniors category.

The Maltese team in fact won the Best Team award, with the runners up being Russia and Italy.

Commenting on this achievement, Coastline Hotel general manager Malcolm Buhagiar said: “We are extremely pleased with Dominic’s achievement.

“This is an honour for the Resort and Island Hotel’s Group, a professional achievement for Dominic and an achievement for the whole country. We have once again shown that Maltese chefs can excel on the global stage and successfully compete with their foreign counterparts”.
