The Skolasport programme, sponsored officially by Kellogg’s, ended its second term when the last session was held last Saturday.
The third and last term of the 2004/2005 edition of Skolasport will kick off tomorowwith some slight changes to the programme.
“During the past weeks, we had a good number of children contacting us asking whether it was possible for them to join Skolasport. This positive feedback shows that the sports programme offered to all youngsters is a great success. We are committed to continually enhance the Skolasport programme and this success encourages our entire team to create new initiatives and sport discipline sessions,” said Programmes Co-Ordinator, Tanya Zahra.
As from the start of the third term, the swimming sessions offered by Skolasport will be held at the newly refurbished National Swimming Pool at tal-Qroqq and at the Razzett tal-Hbiberija, Marsascala.
These sessions are open for participants between five and 10 years. Swimming sessions for parents will also be available at Tal-Qroqq.
Skolasport falls under the responsibility of the Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport, an agency of the Ministry for Education, Youth and Employment. Over 1,000 children, youths and parents are already participating in the present edition of Skolasport. Programmes offered cater for children between five and 16 years of age, special needs children and parents.
A spokesperson for Kellogg’s said that it gives their company great pleasure to be Skolasport’s main sponsor for the seventh year running. Kellogg’s provides financial assistance, as well as t-shirts to each participant.
