Vodafone Cares for your heart

Malta Independent Thursday, 9 June 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Vodafone Cares For Your Heart campaign has been extended, following the initial positive response from the public. Since the launch of this heart care awareness campaign by Vodafone and St James Hospital, over 150 people have taken advantage of Vodafone’s offer to pay Lm35 towards the cost of a heart scan at the hospital.

Through an agreement with St James Hospital, which has recently started operating a fully-fledged cardiac care unit, Vodafone customers can have their heart scanned for a discounted price of Lm45.

Vodafone Malta executive Claude Muscat Doublesin said that the campaign had been so successful that Vodafone and St James Hospital were glad to extend the offer.

“Vodafone’s customer care commitment is not only about being a quality mobile telephony service provider, but also aims to raise awareness about important day to day issues, of which heart care is one,” he said.

St James Hospital director Jean Claude Muscat remarked on the group’s satisfaction with the campaign’s outcome. “Following a heavy investment in state-of-the-art equipment, St James Hospital is now the only private health care organisation in Malta to offer an all-inclusive cardiac treatment unit.

“Individuals from all walks of life are exposed to the risk of suffering a heart attack,” he added. He continued by highlighting the fact that “85 per cent of sudden heart attacks may be prevented if the conditions leading to it are diagnosed early enough to be treated. St James Hospital has always aimed to deliver excellent service and we believe that this new investment is another milestone in the history of our operations.”

Vodafone subscribers can continue to avail themselves of the extended campaign by booking a heart scan at St James Hospital on 2169-2002 or 2169-2055.
