A man pleaded not guilty to illegally using a farmhouse in Siggiewi to make fireworks on 28 June 2005 and the previous months.

Victor Ellul, aged 44, from Zurrieq, was accused of illegally making fireworks in Victor farmhouse in ta’ Kandja, Siggiewi. He was additionally charged with opening this fireworks factory without taking the precautions required by law and of holding explosives without the necessary permits.

Mr Ellul was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Inspectors Sandro Zarb and Maria Stella Attard prosecuted while Dr Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
