A number of French journalists were in Malta recently to watch the filming of a dramatic scene in the television film Black Beard which is currently being shot at the Mediterranean Film Studios.
This initiative was made possible through the Malta Tourism Authority’s Paris office, and was supported by Air Malta and the InterContinental Hotel. During their visit, the French journalists also met MTA executive chairman Mr Romwald Lungaro-Mifsud, who spoke about Malta’s growing potential as a filming destination and the importance of this sector to Malta’s tourism industry.
Malta will also be promoted during the press launch of the TV-film in France later this year. The film is a “Dangerous Films” production for the BBC/Prosieben TV Germany/France 2/National Geographic channel.
Meanwhile, the MTA is also in discussions with the popular cable channel Mezzo to broadcast a number of cultural events being held in Malta this year.
