The chamber has always felt that the Gozo Channel line is the road which links Gozo to the main island as well as to the world.

Hence, it says it is in total agreement with a Gozitan being appointed to the post, as such a person can better understand the difficulties faced by Gozitans wanting to cross over to Malta for work, study, health or any other reason.

Mr Borg is also in a position to understand that Gozo Channel can be one of the main pillars in helping the economy of the island of Gozo by offering more incentives to Maltese and tourists alike to cross over to Gozo.

Mr Borg has been a member and Secretary of the Gozo Business Chamber’s Council since its inception in 1999 and the chamber thanked him for the sterling service he has always offered.

The chamber wished him well in his new post and assured him of its full cooperation.
