Valletta Resume training today with JJ Aquilina back at helm

Malta Independent Monday, 11 July 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Valletta FC will resume training for the new season as from today at 7pm and will again be under the charge of JJ Aquilina who has been confirmed after it seemed that former Msida coach Joe Grech would be taking over.

Aquilina had unexpectedly resigned because of work commitments. However, he informed the club that he would be ready to resume his job if he managed to resolve his workplace problems, which he did.

Valletta are keen on strengthening the team and after signing last season’s top scorer in the first division Jerry Ani, their prime target is now central defender Massimo Grima.

The Malta international is back on Sliema’s books after having been on loan at Valletta.

The citizens are again insisting on another loan but have not managed to convince Sliema so far, who want a direct sale of the player.
