The IV Westin Malta Football Awards night is being held today from 8.30pm at the Westin Dragonara Resort.
This edition will feature three new awards – the awards for the Best Player in Gozo, the Best Futsal (five-a-side league) Player and the Best Player according to the general public.
The other awards are: Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Best Striker, Most Promising Youngster, Best Coach, Best Foreign Player, Best Local Player, Best Goal of the Season and Best Female Player.
Various local sports journalists will be handing out the Awards to the winners of the thirteen categories.
This year's edition, which will also be transmitted live on Net TV, will be anchored by Antonella Vassallo and John Busuttil.
The first award – Best Goal of the season – was announced last week. It has been won by Silvan Ciscaldi whose goal against Sliema polled 89 votes. Second was Gilbert Agius with 70 and third Daniel Bogdanovic on 70.
