Louiselle Vassallo has been acting for the past 16 years. In spite of a hectic career in media, she still tries to find time to take part in a production or two every year. Past productions include a number of pantos, musicals, dramatic roles and comedy. Louiselle will next be taking on various roles in MADC’s hilarious Four Play – a collection of musical comedy, satire and in-your-face humour at the Manoel Theatre between 7 – 9 and 14 – 16 October

33. Capricorn. 31 December 1971 at approximately 10.15pm … just made it in time for the countdown!

Significant other? Children?

Nope … and nope.

What would you like to be doing in 10 years’ time?

Hmmm … haven’t thought that far. Maybe successfully juggling a career, a (small) family, a buzzing social life (though, from what I hear, the former kinda excludes the latter) with lots of travelling in between, a theatre performance or two a year, and all this in good health… “successfully” being the operative term.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being with the people I love, having a good laugh… you know, those unique, silly moments.

What is your favourite occupation?

Well, I love my job, but on the “me-time” front (what me-time???) it would have to be cooking, preferably for a hungry, appreciative bunch!

What is your greatest fear?

Losing a person I love, though that’s more of a worry. A more tangible fear would be that of heights… oh, and spiders.

What is it that you most value in your friends?

Their loyalty, their ability to make me laugh, their constancy, warmth, individuality, hugs … and their culinary skills.

How would you like to die?

With no warning whatsoever, while having a good laugh, with a bar of chocolate in one hand and a scotch in the other, preferably in the company of my closest friends (I know, it’s selfish, and I do apologise for the shock factor!)

What is your greatest extravagance?

Shoes, shoes and more shoes… with chocolate coming in a close second. I should say travelling, but if I had to work out the maths ratio, I guess shoes would still top the chart!

What is your greatest regret?

It would have to be that very instance when I, foolishly, did not say NO to a cigarette.

What is your most treasured possession?

None really, materialistically speaking. I only treasure people… and my sense of humour, as long as that’s still intact, I’m OK.

Which talent would you most like to have apart from the ones you already have?

I would love to have learnt how to play the guitar. I studied pianoforte for 10 years, but you can’t exactly haul that instrument to a BBQ sing-a-long, now, can you?

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?

Ill health and unwanted

loneliness.

Where would you like to live?

Near the sea… a small house with a garden for my feline friends!

What is your most marked characteristic?

My smile, I guess? Though it’s a bit lop-sided at the moment. You see, I lost my crown during a rehearsal last week (chewing gum) and I’m suffering from the metaphorical “mind the gap” syndrome. Oh, and the fact that I’m accident prone! Though I generally keep smiling on most occasions, which takes me back to… my smile!

Who are your heroes/heroines in real life?

In my life, my parents. In general, people who are compassionate and DO something about it without publicising their actions.

What is it that you most dislike?

Cruelty to animals. People who judge indiscriminately – you never quite know what a person is going through… AND CAPERS! Eeeewww!
