When We unite

Malta Independent Wednesday, 2 November 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Malta Tourism Authority, in collaboration with Cospicua local council Youth and Culture sub-committee, organised the Historical Cities Festival for the second year in our beloved city of Cospicua on Friday, 14 October.

Thanks to the local societies that took part in this festival, we, the Bormlizi were united and we worked together as one group. Our main aim was to achieve the success that we eventually did, and even MTA officials were pleased with our efforts. Those who were in Paolina Vassallo Square were witness to this as well. The square was packed with locals dancing, drinking and nibbling some Maltese food.

I would like to take this opportunity to say prosit to the majorettes and the Czech Republic Band, the Paul Curmi Dancers and the band led by Mro Paul Abela.

Grazzi u prosit also go to St George’s Band Club, Kumitat Festi Esterni Marija Immakulata, the Regatta Club, Tota Pulchra Choir and the recently formed committee of St George’s FC Supporters Club that took care of the stands of Maltese food and made it possible to organise this festival together successfully.

I wish to encourage those societies that did not take part in this event this year, and those who have never taken part, to consider being part of this festival in future. With their participation, the festival can be made bigger in the years to come.
