Paul Zammit Appointed new Valletta coach

Malta Independent Thursday, 10 November 2005, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Valletta FC yesterday announced they had appointed Paul Zammit as their new coach, after the resignation of JJ Aquilina.

The citizens agreed terms with Zammit, who had been coaching Mosta this season.

It is reliably understood that former national coach Horst Heese had suggested to the MFA to have Zammit appointed Under 21 national coach with Mark Miller being given the responsibility of the senior Malta squad.

After last season’s satisfactory performances, the citizens have had a mixed start to this season and are at present fighting to avoid playing in the Relegation Pool in the second phase. They are in sixth place with 11 points from 10 matches.
