The Urban Development and Roads Minister said last week that the government “hopes to embark on a public-private partnership to turn one of the university’s car parks into a fully-fledged bus terminus complete with an underground car park” (TMID, 13 October).
The aim, he said, is to address the needs of a growing university population as well as serve the new Mater Dei Hospital, which will be opened next year.
What I hope is that the project will not take long to materialise… and I do hope that it will not take as long as the new hospital to be built.
The thousands of students who attend university courses, as well as the thousands who will be going to the new hospital every day,
certainly need it.
