A record number of models of varying ages participated in the popular Gwida Models of the Year 2006/2007 this year. This event held at the Bay Street Complex last weekend attracted large crowds of people.

Ninety contestants participated in this year’s show, which also featured a section for children aged one to 13. The jury based their vote on the children’s self-confidence and charisma and chose four-year old Shanice Calleja and two-year old Xavier Axiaq, who won the Best of All Winners category for children.

Thirty-eight young men and women competed for the titles. Chantelle Enriquez of Ghaxaq is this year’s Miss Gwida and Shaun Pullicino of Mosta, this year’s Mr Gwida.

During the Bay Street event 12 models were also chosen. Each of the models will give an exclusive interview to be featured in the Gwida every month over the coming year.
