Wise Owl Publications has taken the initiative to publish the first two of a series of specially illustrated books in Maltese to help adolescent students who still lack proficiency in the language.
Each book tells the story in a sequence of full page photographs that are sufficiently attractive to interest adolescent readers, thereby helping improve their skills in reading and spelling Maltese.
The subjects of these stories describe adventures that the readers may well meet with in their daily lives. The stories are such as to help in developing good relations not only with their friends, both male and female, but also with their elders.
Harga sa Paceville is set in this popular rendezvous for young people and is about the clash of views between young people and their parents.
Hobbni ghal Dejjem deals with the problems of young love and with teenage pregnancy, with all the complications that arise.
The books are written by Natalie Portelli.
