The Malta Printing Industries Association (MPIA) recently held a meeting to discuss two prominent issues: the generation of waste in the printing industry, and the forthcoming euro changeover.

The meeting was first addressed by the president of the MPIA, Margaret Buhagiar, who stressed the importance of addressing the issue of the separation of waste and the MPIA’s commitment in this sphere.

The printing industry was also a service provider in the euro changeover process and as such it was felt that the MPIA should be better prepared to update its members, consequently enabling them to offer a better service to their clients.

To cover these topics, the MPIA invited Ing. Mary Grace Micallef from WasteServ, and Mr Alexander Wells from the NECC, who delivered a presentation in their respective fields to MPIA members.

Both speakers generated a lot of interest from the floor, and the discussion that followed each presentation was a clear sign that information on each of these topics was needed.
