The stopping of the helicopter link between Malta and Gozo was to be expected. The prices were too high for people to even consider making use of the service, and it is no wonder that Helicopteros del Sureste found the going tough.

The problem is that I believe it will be hard for the government to find a replacement. I do not think that other companies will be interested because they will probably ask for similar prices and, knowing the latest experience, they will shy away from it.

Gozo will be isolated in winter because ferry boats will be unable to cross in bad weather.

I think the government should actively consider having an air-strip on the island of Gozo to allow for an air-link between the two islands.
