60 Second Interview - Matthew Simpson

Matthew Simpson trained at the London Studio Centre and lives in Herne Hill in south London. His credits include Equality at The Royal Albert Hall, Vincent the Musical and Wilting both at The Kings Head Theatre London, H & G at the Angrinan Theatre Ireland and Babes In Arms at the Westminster Theatre London.

He is hugely excited about playing Frank N’ Furter, the transvestite and mad scientist, in the forthcoming production of Masquerade’s live, glitzy and bouncy The Rocky Horror Show by Richard O’Brien which is taking place at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre at Ta’ Qali on Saturday 10 March, with more shows on 16, 17 and 18 March. All shows start at 8pm.

How old are you?

29 (30 coming on fast! Boo hoo).

Star Sign?

Leo.

What would you be doing in 10 years’ time?

Singing. I love it!

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Chicken crisp sandwiches.

What is your favourite

occupation?

Singing I love it!

Significant other?

No… God No!

What is your greatest fear?

Heights and pigeons (and Valetta is full of them, it is a pigeon factory).

What is it that you most value in your friends?

Their endless love and support.

How would you like to die?

Quickly or really dramatically like the first hostage shot out of an aeroplane door by a

terrorist.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Face cream (I am very vain).

What is your greatest regret?

Not yet!

What is your most treasured possession?

My family and friends, they are all amazing!

Which talent would you most like to have apart from the ones you already have?

I always wanted to learn how to play the

drums.

What do you regard as

the lowest depth of

misery?

Losing both my legs.

Where would you like to live?

In Oz! Why didn’t Dorothy want to stay? It’s such a cool place to live.

What is your most marked characteristic?

Being late, I have to work really hard at being on time.

Who are your real life hero/heroines?

My mum and Dad, they are amazing.

What is it you most dislike?

Selfishness.

What is your motto?
