The Malta Canine Society will be holding its Spring Championship Dog Show at the Cottonera Sports Complex on Saturday and Sunday. Two judges from England, Geoff Duffield and Gwen Beaden will be judging the dogs.

Over 200 dogs from 44 breeds will be participating, starting on Saturday at 3.30pm, with the Gundog and Toy breeds.

On Sunday the show starts at 9am with the Junior Handler Class, a competition for young boys and girls aged between 10 to 17 years. The junior with the highest number of points at the end of the year will represent Malta at the International Junior Handler Competition which takes place at Crufts, the world’s best known dog show held in March in Birmingham, England. On Sunday afternoon the show starts at 3pm with the Terrier and Working breeds, and the finals will see all group winners competing for the coveted Best in Show title.

For more information, contact the club Mondays to Fridays between 7.30pm and 9pm on telephone & fax 2123-4916 or email [email protected], or visit the club’s official website: www.maltacanine.org.
