Theresa Cauchi

Throughout the years Theresa has embarked on various theatre, radio and television projects. Undoubtedly, television roles like that of Sika (in Bahar Wiehed) and Connie (in Santa Monica) catapulted her to the recognition she now enjoys. Nevertheless, it was the numerous theatre roles and the directors she worked with to whom she credits for her technique. Apart from acting in leading roles in plays by Molière, Neil Simon and Arthur Miller which have proved her versatility as an actress, it was working with Maltese theatre masters such as Albert Marshall, Joe Friggieri and Francis Ebejer who have definitely enhanced her theatrical aptitude and her love for Maltese theatre. She has acted in Il-Weghda (both in 1984 and 2007), Djarju ta’ Sara, Trappisti, Tkun darb’ohra Mikelang and Caravaggio by Friggieri and hitan, Il-hadd fuq il-Bejt and Gahan ta’ Bingemma by Ebejer. Theresa has also impressed viewers with her command of the Maltese dialect in Ebejer’s Dar tas-Soru, the adapted television version.

Theresa has just been part of the cast of Tmien Nota, which was airing on TVM. She was playing the role of Agnes: a woman whose life changes after the bankruptcy of her husband’s business and her daughter’s failure. She is presently working on further projects which will be revealed in due course.
