60 Second Interview

Malta Independent Sunday, 11 May 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Ian Lang has been living in Malta for some 20 years. He originally came from Devon in UK. He has played as a DJ in the Styx 11 club, Axis and Numero Uno. He has worked with Bay radio right from the start and is now presenting the lunchtime show from 1.30 to 3.30pm Monday to Friday. Ian is also a full-time producer. He also hosts the popular ‘90’s are Back’ nights at Axis in what he describes as a decade with just too many memories. When he’s not working he’s trying to beat the kids on the Nintendo wii where he’s become a legend on the tennis court.

Summer is Ian’s favourite season as he loves the great outdoors: swimming, BBQs and of course Numero Uno. Playing under the stars is just amazing, he says and his dream is that one day he will buy a big bike “with those funky cow handle bars” and just cruise around. DJing is still very much a part of his life. He has been involved in the Conference and Incentive scene playing for big companies visiting Malta including BP and Sony. On these occasions he can play a wide range of music and met people from all walks of life.

His comment on today’s music: “You might not understand it but it sure sounds great!”
