Attempted Break-in charge

A 41-year-old man was remanded in custody yesterday after pleading not guilty to attempting to break into the Mondial Travel Agency, Sliema on Saturday at 3.30am.

Daniel Pace Bonello, from Sliema, was caught red handed by the Police Mobile Squad after he broke into the office by breaking glass panes.

He was found in possession of over €2,329.37 in cash, documents and other items, including burglary tools of the trade. Pace Bonello denied also causing over than e1,164.69 in damages and relapsing. Magistrate Michael Mallia remanded the man in custody and heard defence counsel Stephen Tonna Lowell ask for arrangements to be made for his client since he was a drug addict and was receiving treatment for his problem. Police Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted.
