Malta’s Michael Mifsud could return to Maltese football next season.

It is rumoured that the 28-year old striker could return to Malta’s Premier League after spells in Germany, Norway and England. Michael Mifsud spent the last part of last season with Championship side Barnsley, on loan from other Championship side Coventry.

Several clubs in England are said to be showing interest in the Malta striker, with Sheffield United, currently in Malta, and Leeds United, the clubs who were close to get his signature.

But it seems that Michael Mifsud is eager to return to his homeland with some local clubs showing interest in the player. If such a return materialises, Valletta are on pole position to capture the talented striker.
