Jubilee Introducing food range to enjoy at home this fall

Malta Independent Tuesday, 22 September 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 16 years ago

Fans of the highly successful Cafe Jubilee bistro-pubs will be thrilled to know that the franchise is introducing a range of traditional, home-made food items to be enjoyed at home. The range will be launched under the brand extension of Jubilee Foods.

Soon after revealing that the Cafe Jubilee brand will be exported to mainland Europe with the opening of a bistro-pub in Budapest, Director Alex Scicluna has also announced plans to launch a range of exclusive, high-quality traditional food items that food lovers can enjoy at home.

These products will be available from a number of specialised artisan Jubilee Foods branded outlets that are to open in Malta in the coming weeks. The outlets will embody the Jubilee Foods ethos of genuine and home-made dishes that take the culinary experience back to traditional roots using natural and fresh ingredients with no additives. Products will include a selection of traditional Maltese and Gozitan dishes whose recipes have been handed down from generation to generation.

“When we first launched Nanna’s Ravioli on the market, we received incredible feedback and to date, this product remains one of our fastest moving items. Our regular patrons have always encouraged us to extend our branded food items in such a way to allow them to enjoy the Cafe Jubilee experience at home as well. Jubilee Foods is the result of a long research and development process which should present the right formula for what our Café Jubilee patrons are looking for,” said Mr Scicluna.

The Jubilee Foods range is expected to include some favourites that can already be found on the menu at the bistro-pubs, such as the famous cheese cakes and pea cakes, the apple pie and the walnut tart. The selection will also include some intriguing innovations such as different chutneys and jams.

“The Jubilee Foods outlet will also offer some traditional Maltese and Gozitan fare, such as Comino Honey, Gozo Cheese and Peppered Cheese, Sun-dried tomatoes and others. We are very passionate about the quality of our products and we feel that this passion has contributed a lot towards making the Cafe Jubilee brand the success that it is. We are putting that same passion into the creation of our Jubilee Foods experience, so that our customers can take this experience with them home,” Mr. Scicluna said.
