The scrap yard owner whose application was thrown out by Mepa’s board on Thursday is not the brother of Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said.
The error is regretted.
The homonymity may have had to do with an issue which Dr Said’s brothers had with their neighbours some years back. According to Dr Said the issue is now over, and it was more because of trucks being parked than because of a scrap yard, the site has become an orchard and all Mepa rules have been observed.
As to the application regarding Anglu Said’s scrap yard, Dr Said, when mayor of Nadur, was steadfastly against its existence.
