Professional Development programmes

Malta Independent Thursday, 21 July 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Forty-six learning support assistants, teachers and educational leaders have been awarded certificates for successfully concluding a professional development programme in Entrepreneurship through education training for teachers.

The project was financed by the Entrepreneurship through the Education Scheme 2011 of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance.

St Nicholas College, which organised the concluding seminar, has also been awarded three other projects under the scheme, which are to be implemented in October and November.

The Entrepreneurship through the Education Scheme is aimed at promoting entrepreneurial qualities among students and at providing practical experience in entrepreneurial activity. State and non-state schools were encouraged to propose and implement projects, including teacher training in this area, which assist students in acquiring the skills and motivation to allow them to employ these entrepreneurial qualities in a variety of settings.
