Arsenal Signs on with Malta-based Betsson

With over 200,000 members and a global fan base it is not surprising that betting companies would clamber for the signing of Arsenal FC. 

The club has announced a new and innovative three-year global partnership with Betsson. The Malta-based gaming company now becomes the club’s Official Betting Partner, providing both online and in-stadia betting services for Arsenal fans from this season.

The significant new deal is Betsson’s first ever football partnership and will be focused on creating a bespoke betting operation designed specifically for Arsenal fans. As part of this, both online and in-stadia betting services will be delivered through a newly created brand, GunnersGaming by Betsson, with in-stadia operations starting at Arsenal’s first Barclays Premier League match of the season against Liverpool yesterday.

Commenting on the deal, Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal’s Head of Global Partnerships said, “We are delighted to welcome Betsson on board as an Official Partner of the Club, an experienced and trusted brand who will be delivering this innovative new venture. By designing a range of gaming products specifically for Arsenal fans, we intend to offer our supporters a valuable and unique experience that we hope will have no rival to our supporters.”

“Signing these kinds of B2B deals with a football club like Arsenal shows what a technically attractive partner Betsson is today. This is also a good opportunity for Betsson to gain a part of the regulated UK market,” said Magnus Silfverberg, CEO and president of Betsson.

Betsson follows Indesit, Thomas Cook, Carlsberg and Citroen as Arsenal’s fifth and final partnership signing in the lead up to the club’s first Premier League home game against Liverpool yesterday.
