Grand Harbour Breakwater

Work has begun at the Valletta end of the Grand Harbour breakwater in preparation for the installation of a steel bridge to reconnect the breakwater arm with the shore. The original bridge was blown up in an attack by Italian U-boats in World War II. Meanwhile, an application for the embellishment and traffic management of the main square in Nadur has been approved by Mepa, but an application for a shopping complex at Reiq ta’ wara s-Sur in Victoria has been turned down. An application has been submitted for additions to the Cospicua Collegiate church annex in order to create a museum for historical artefacts, and MIDI has applied for Phase 2 of the Fort Manoel restoration, including the ditch, bastions, counterscarps, glacis and outer works
