Bethlehem In Għajnsielem

Malta Independent Saturday, 10 December 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

The Bethlehem Foundation of Għajnsielem was awarded €19,000 by the Ministry for Gozo for its Christmas Village, which it puts up at Ta’ Passi and which opens tomorrow. The money was awarded under the eco-Gozo scheme.

Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono visited the site while final preparations were in hand. The Bethlehem Foundation activity has established itself on the cultural calendar and the donation helped it equip itself better, and promote itself through advertising abroad.

The money served to buy furniture and embellishments for the activity, agriculture machinery and helped in the publication of 2,000 booklets for children.

The Christmas Village includes carpentry and blacksmith’s shops, bakery, a vegetable and fruit market, and a taverna. It remains open until 8 January.
