Hany Fathy Gayed Eskander, 33, an Egyptian who lives in Marsa, was arraigned before Magistrate Tonio Micallef Trigona yesterday, charged with misappropriating €2,000 to the detriment of George Cini of Qormi.

Mr Eskander pleaded not guilty to having, as an employee of Rocky and Co. Ltd, promised Mr Cini he would add €2,000 worth in objects which had never been delivered, after payment had already been made.

Mr Eskander, who was arraigned by Inspector Yvonne Farrugia, was bailed on a personal guarantee of €2,000 and he must sign in daily between 6 and 8pm at Ħamrun police station. He was represented by Dr Anthony Cutajar.
