Hotsticks 1

Qormi  1

Umpires: Anthony Tabone, Ronald Kranjcec

A quiet first half which saw both teams sharing one half chance each in the first 15 minutes.

A minute later Hotsticks won the only penalty corner of the half, which bore no fruit, and the game continued to be totally dominated by midfield play.

However the stalemate was broken in the 32nd minute when Steve Tanti shot Qormi ahead from an acute angle.

Hotsticks started the second half strongly and after winning their second penalty corner in succession they equalised in the 41st minute when Ludolf Pasterhoff finished off a penalty corner move.

Both teams tried to break the deadlock but chances remained few and far between, mostly due to the shrewd tactics deployed by Hotsticks.

In fact Qormi only won their first short corner in the 68th minute.

In the end the result satisfied both teams and saw Qormi crowned champions for the third year in a row.

White Hart 2

Young Stars 1

Umpires: Paul Brincat, Manuel Imbroll

White Hart fell behind in the 9th minute when Young Stars were awarded a penalty stroke which Charles Micallef converted in style.

The game flowed from end to end with the teams sharing 10 penalty corners in the first half.

In the 26th minute, after a period of White Hart pressure, Daniel Siefert finished off a good move with a well placed volley to equalise for White hart.

Young Stars won two penalty corners in the first ten minutes of the second half to no avail.

White Hart hit back creating a goal scoring opportunity in the 53rd minute and went 2-1 ahead in the 66th minute thanks to a crisp finish by Gian Carlo Torpiano.

This caused Young Stars to react and they won two penalty corners in the last two minutes but their efforts failed to change the result before the final whistle sounded.
