Neptunes Emirates did exactly what Sliema McDonalds did last Friday when they trouned their opponents 12-6 to level the scores in the BoV Winter League Final playoff.

In fact the game was practically over after the first two sessions where Neptunes took a commanding seven goal lead after winning 4-1 and 4-0 respectively with the goals coming from Niki Lanzon, Timmy Agius, Sean Gravina, Michele Stellini, Clint Mercieca and Jordan Camilleri with Sliema replying through the lone opener by Michael Rizzo.

The third session was the only one which went Sliema’s way 4-3 with Meli, Soler and Brownrigg finding the net for the blues and Camilleri, Lanzon and Gravina scoring for Neptunes.

The final session was a quiet affair with the match already decided ending up 1-1 for a final score of 12-6 in Neptunes’ favour. The decider will now be played tomorrow evening to determine who will be the winner fo the 2012 BoV Waterpolo Winter League.

In the play off for third and fourth place, San Giljan Giuseppe’s came up trumps beating 3CX Exiles 8-4. The first session ended 2-0 in San Giljan’s favour with the second session ending all square 1-1.

However San Giljan then won the third session 2-0 to set up a four goal advantage for the final session which they never relinquished for an entertaining 3-3 scoreline and a final score of 8-4.
