Malta Independent Sunday, 8 July 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

This year, Henley Business School celebrates its 20th anniversary in Malta.

To start these celebrations, the Dean of Henley Business School, Professor John Board, visited Malta at the end of May and was guest speaker at an alumni event organised by the local associate, Allied Consultants. This was very well attended by over 70 alumni and current programme members, and was the ideal event to network and renew contacts.

Guests were greeted by a presentation featuring the last 20 years of Henley’s presence in Malta that included graduation and team photos. Lorenzo Mule` Stagno, Henley-Malta Associate and Programme Director, opened the event with an overview of the successful story of Henley in Malta, the present rewarding situation and forthcoming plans for Henley-Malta.

In his speech, Professor John Board highlighted the changes that Henley Business School has undergone and the implications from this. Professor Reno Sammut, the previous associate, also said a few words and re-confirmed Henley’s popularity in Malta. The Henley MBA has been offered in Malta since 1992, and with an alumni pool of around 500 people, is the most established and popular MBA in Malta. Prof. Board presented Prof. Sammut with a memento from Henley Business School, in appreciation for his many years of service in establishing the Henley brand on the Maltese islands.

At the end of the event Lorenzo Mule` Stagno presented Prof. Board with a ceramic work of art depicting a traditional Maltese scene by renowned local artist Paul Vella Critien.

As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations and to further enhance Henley’s presence in Malta, Mule` Stagno also spoke about the launch of programmes from the ICMA Centre as part of Henley-Malta’s growth in the portfolio of training services. This event was especially significant as it was also a showcase of Henley-Malta’s move to new premises, which now include both office space and training facilities. Guests were invited to tour the new premises and Prof. Board had time to chat with local tutors, alumni and programme members.
