Three water taxi operators yesterday filed a judicial protest in the first hall of the civil court against the Transport Authority accusing the authority of impeding their work by denying them access to berthing places.
Joseph Gheiti, Johann Micallef and Ivan Zammit said they operate water taxis and other commercial vehicles. A legal notice which has been issued, the protest says, hinders their operations and impedes them from using facilities to berth at the Ferries, in Marsamxett, and at Lascaris Wharf, on the inner side of Dockyard Creek.
The legal notice is itself in breach of port regulations by preventing them from using entire zones without specifying particular areas, they claim, asking for a revocation of the legal notice.
The protest was signed by Dr Gabrielle Zammit and Dr Daniela Mangion.
