On Thursday, the Italian Council of Ministers (Cabinet) approved the ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Government of the Republic of Malta on cultural cooperation and education. This was announced in a statement made by Palazzo Chigi.

The agreement constitutes the basis for all actions and cultural exchange projects and education in Malta.

It will further increase the already solid ties between the two peoples through the exchange of experiences and data, providing at the same time an effective response to strong demand for Italian language and culture in Malta.

In addition, it will promote and encourage initiatives, exchanges and collaborations in the field of culture through the exchange of events, university cooperation, conferences and scholarships study. The agreement will also facilitate all appropriate forms of cooperation in the conservation, protection and enhancement of artistic and archaeological heritage, and efforts aimed at preventing the illicit transfer of cultural goods. The agreement also represents a valuable tool that ensures the protection of copyright and intellectual property, in compliance with national and international standards.
