Shooting: Two Silver medals for Maltese skeet shooters in Jersey at the European Commonwealth Championship

In very bad weather conditions at Jersey, where The European Commonwealth Shooting Championships 

are being organized, shooters Clive Farrugia and Darren Vella, both made it to the final barrage yesterday managing to win the silver medal in the Pairs event.

The English pair managed to win the Gold medal with a score of 177/200, ahead of the Maltese duo who obtained a score of 174. The Welsh pair won the bronze meda on 170.

Mac Gilligan from England placed 1st with 124+24=148, while Ray Bird, also from England, placed second with 123+24=147.

Richard Price, from Wales, placed third with 113+22=135.

Clive Farrugia placed fourth with 110+23=133 while Darren Vella was sixth with a score of 107+20=127.

The Maltese shooters are being assisted by MSF Official Grezzju Agius.

Earlier, Marianna Kisvardai, representing the Malta Shooting Sport Federation in Jersey, won the first ever silver medal in the women’s 10m Air Rifle Target Shooting event.

Marianna managed a very good score of 381 out of a possible 400 to qualify for the finals, where she managed an almost perfect score of 99.6. Another Maltese participant Alison Vella placed fifth with 356+90.0.
