Freeport ordered to pay for destroyed car

The First Hall of the Civil Court, presided by Mr Justice Joseph Zammit McKeon ordered Malta Freeport to pay €16,500 in damages to a man whose car was destroyed after a crane hit it.

The accident took place on 24 May, 2008 when a crane owned by the Freeport, driven by Noel Vella, crashed into a Renault belonging to Alex Allul Sullivan, who was on duty on board a vessel berthed at the Freeport.

The car was deemed to have been beyond repair.
